Nd state road report3/3/2024 Snow removal equipment will not be dispatched when, in the judgment of the supervisor, low visibility or other conditions are such that the risk to operators and other motorists outweighs the benefit of snow/ice operations. Exceptions for potential emergencies will be made as determined appropriate by the supervisor. With the exception of snow and ice control operations which may be conducted as early as 5:00 AM and as late as 8:00 PM. Summer operation hours are from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM, and normal winter hours are from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. The department also currently maintains all bridges on Pembina County roads and township roads, and any other duties as may be designated by the board of County Commissioners. The Pembina County Highway Department Supervises new road and bridge construction and maintains all county roads including but not limited to snow and ice removal, mowing, patching, replacing and installing culverts and replacing signs. There are generally 2 seasonal employees hired during the summer months. The staffing of the Pembina County Highway Department is composed of a Highway Superintendent, a Foreman, three equipment operators four truck drivers and an administrative assistant for a total crew of 10. ![]() The Pembina County Highway Department is located at 503 Airport Road in Cavalier, ND with an office, shop and storage facility.
